Five key points for safe tanker driving on rural dirt roads
Most rural roads are dirt roads with poor road condition, narrow road and uneven potholes. Dirt roads in mountainous areas have steep slopes and sharp bends. On sunny days, especially when the weather is dry, the dust on the road is flying, and after the fine dust is taken away, there will be rocks and potholes on the road. Rainy days, especially when a long sunny encounter continuous rain, the soil is soaked into a saturated state, water on the road, mud, gullies can be seen everywhere, even causing the shoulder collapse. Therefore, when driving on rural dirt roads, tanker drivers must understand the characteristics of the road surface under various climates and conditions, and master safe driving to ensure driving safety.
1. Speed limit. There are more obstacles such as potholes and gravel on the dirt road, and the driving speed cannot be too high, otherwise the car vibration will be aggravated, which will not only cause damage to the vehicle transmission system, walking system and other parts, but also directly threaten driving safety. Especially in rainy days when there is water and muddy sections of driving, but also to steady the accelerator. Speed, with low and medium gear change and emergency braking, even if you need to slow down also rely on reducing the throttle to speed.
2. Choose the road surface. When there are potholes and rocks on the road, the ground clearance of the vehicle should be taken into account, and the steering wheel should be carefully avoided. When passing soft, muddy, waterlogged sections, you should be particularly careful, if necessary, you should first get off and observe, when it is clear that the wheel will not fall into the dirt, you can hang the low gear slowly through. The newly opened dirt road, if there are ruts on the road, should try to drive along the ruts, do not blindly take risks.
3. Go downhill cautiously. Whether it is sunny or rainy, the tank car should choose a low gear when going downhill, reduce the throttle and slowly downhill, but not neutral sliding slope. Because there are more potholes and rocks on the dirt road, the situation is complex, and it is often necessary to brake and slow down on the way down the slope to avoid collision, especially if there are sharp bends on the way down the dirt road, if the slope is in the middle, it is easy to cause the vehicle to run off and roll over during braking.
4. Do not follow too close to the front car in the safe meeting, so as to avoid the dust raised by the car before the sunny day or the mud splashed on the rainy day. In the event of a meeting, you should pay attention to observe the road surface, especially in the long rain do not get too close to the road shoulder, to prevent the vehicle from slipping and causing accidents.
5. Prevent sideslip when the front wheel sideslip, you should stabilize the throttle and correct the direction to drive out. When the rear wheel of the tank car is sideslip, the steering wheel should be turned in the direction of sideslip, and then drive in the loop after the rear wheel is straightening. When the rear wheel slips in the downhill, you can properly point the accelerator, increase the speed, and then drive at the original speed after the sideslip is eliminated.
